I tried to deposit Electroless-Ni on Pd & zincated Al alloy substrate in Na-hypo-phosphite bath
The SEM/EDX analysis showed that there were mixed deposits of pure Ni and Ni-P.
The Al surface was Pd and zincate activated, temp ranged (85-90 oC), pH was either 5 or 11.5
some questions: did you carefully wash the surface after the Ni deposition? the metals (you mentioned) do form unsoluble phosphites (PO33- ), they can stay somewhere on the surface.
Thanks for answer. Yes, I understand the delicate nature of material surface and the purity of EN solution in EN plating. Thus, were the Al alloy material passed through a routine of carefully formulated cleaning & pretreatment solutions with intermittent rinsing baths
