Is there a possibility of building a telomere primer to sit at the end of the genome just before the telomeric stretch to ensure the full amplification of telomeres, i.e. is there a homologous sequence at least 50% among all chromosomes?
Yeah but the shelterin complex regions are found at the end of the telomeric repeats. I am seeking a region just before the temolere repeat that is common among all human chromosomes. At least 50% homologous. What you are describing is my next avenue to pursue because I think a primer set specific to only the shelterin regions, say for instance the G rich holiday junction region would ensure full amplification beginning at the end of telomere region.
