How do you obtain the time-dependent and frequency-dependent vibration characteristics (displacement, velocity, acceleration) when using harmonic structural analysis in ANSYS?
Thanks Ruban. But I'm asking about a 3D model to which a base sinusoidal acceleration has been applied,
How do you apply the acceleration in MECH APDL? how do you obtain the sinusoidal dynamic responses (disp, vel, etc) as a function of time? I understand you can select a node to obtain its response as a function of frequency, but what about the time-based response?
You can do it by writing a macro. It can be found in my paper "Implementation of active seismic control of a building frame using ANSYS With the application of Active Tuned Mass Damper (ATMD)"
The paper can be downloaded from my profile page. A sample code is also given in the Appendix.
The line ACEL,XG(dt,1) applies acceleration in X direction.
I want to simulate a harmonic base acceleration for a beam in Ansys 14.5 and finally compare with experiment. I used ACEL; but the obtained result does not match with the experimental. Do you have any suggestion for solving it?
