Recently I switch on Brucker diffractometer (previously worked on Philips) and I am having a problem with alignment. It worked perfect until last week when something happened (possible power surge or students dropping off parts ).

Short description of the problem : The theta 2theta scans works perfectly (Optics : Paralel beam - Gobell Mirror, Divergence Slit 1.2 mm- Receiving slit 1.0 mm  Detector radius 300mm). Attached you have theta 2theta scans for Si wafer (you can see very clear the 400 peak in the right position) and for Korundum (again the main peak in right position).

When trying to run on grazing incidence (tube 1 degree Detector scan same geometry) everything is getting messy. The peaks are very very extended (very large FHWM) although there are arround right positions. I am attaching again two files  for Grazing Incidence on Si 100 wafer (a sharp peak around 52 degree should be present). Previously the peak is there and very distinct while now is completely meesed up.

The intial system alligment was performed using the glass slit (0.1mm).

Also the initial sample allignement (2 theta, rocking curves and even z ) is working perfectly.

Any sugggestions on what i shappening on my system? I am doing something wrong?
