Luria Bertani (LB) agar with heavy metal added was usually used for microbiological isolation, but these materilas should be sterilized separately before mixing .

Potassium solubilization ability of bacterial strains can be detected

by spotting the culture on Aleksandrov agar plates having potassium

aluminium silicate as source of insoluble inorganic potassium,

bromophenol blue acted as pH indicator. After spot inoculation of

log phase bacterial culture using sterile toothpicks, plates were

incubated at 28◦C for 3–5 days and observed for clearing zone

around the colonies (due to the solubilization of inorganic potassium

by bacteria).
