I want to pursue my career towards something related to computer science and biomedical combined. I looked at options and bioinformatics interests me, but i do not know much about it.
I have checked several videos and got the basic idea about it, can someone explain about how can bioinformatics be used in medical industry. The scope and options around bioinformatics, is there a future for people are pursuing their careers in bioinformatics.

Bioinformatics is the hottest and highly paid job market globally.Your decision is right on pursuing bioinformatics be used in medical industry and still this the most demanding skill nowa days.good luck.
As implied by some of these answers, the interface between computer science and medicine is broad. "Bioinformatics" is only one description with multiple methodologies (data-mining, predictive analytics, AI, complex systems anlaysis, agent-based modeling and simulation, etc.). There are vast opportunities, but also a lot of work to do to improve the applicability of the science. I work with a collaborative group we are calling "Operations and Systems Research in Acute Care" (OSRAC) here at WVU that includes a principle in the Industrial and Systems Engineering Department (Leily Farrohkvar, PhD) with an interest in health care applications. I myself also just took a step into this area and it amazed me. It would be great if someone can show me and Mr Fahim Aslam some tools/software for bioinformatics beginners.
