Wanda Manuel We work with learning together with youth with intellectual disabilities. It has many aspects of microlearning. The learning process is a lot about exploring together and finding solutions together. Teacher together with student or student together with student. Often it is the young persons initiative that directs the item or subject of attention. This creates powerfull motivation and strong learning. Motivation is deeply connected to needs, interests, wants and wishes. School often underestimates the importance of this. Interests can both be present in the student or be awakened through curiousity. This is imperative with many children and youth with intellectual disabilities, but is very much the same in any person at any age. We are strongly inspired by Paulo Freire, John Dewey, Marietta Jones and William (Bill) Ayers.
