More information is needed. Are you considering a theoretical investigation or an experimental one? Do you have access to a laboratory? A wind tunnel? Are you interested in aircraft, motor vehicles, wind turbines, structures, etc.?
Mine institution has a wind tunnel setup to test various aerofoil shapes and determine the parameters such as angle of attack, lift, and drag.
I've done firsthand practice with computational software such as Fluent and Workbench previously. Since aerodynamics is pretty well established with high-tech advances in engineering and science, it is a bit difficult for me to grab a precise topic for research and subsequently pull off an SCI-indexed paper.
Good that you recognize these things. There is still much to learn; for example, wind interactions with roof-mounted solar panels, consequences of placing solar fields beside highways, and forces on structures during high wind events (there seems to be more damage than 50 years ago with the same wind). There are other areas in CFD, such as non-Newtonian fluids and multi-phase flow.
