Dear all,
some days ago, I encountered an amphibian in a small creek in the German Alps (ca. 900 m above sea level). They were quite abundant and reproducing. I would appreciate any suggestion about the species name.
Best regards, Florian
In my opinion, it is the alpine newt, Ichthyosaura alpestris (olim Triturus alpestris), male. Regards,
Rinaldo Nicoli

Yes, Italian alpine newt. Possibly ~7 months old. I have some juveniles this size :-)
Instead of checking only the mRNA level, I want to check the active protein level of MMP-1 in Liver tissue from mice. How can I do that?
