It is generally known that the organic compounds are commonly used in many processes in industries; the matter concerned about the leather industry, especially in case of tanning process. In tanning of rawhide/skins, many organic compounds are used and released along with wastewater in environment, where create toxicity in different ways. Hence, there is urgent need to investigate the types of organic pollutants present in leather industry wastewater?
Myrobolan Extract is used as a spray dried power for tanning industry for processing the leather. The tannin is an phenolic ester gives the phenols during hydrolysis.The polyphenols are the pollutants in tanning industry.
There are a lot of chlorinated phenol compounds, such as 3, 5-dichlorophenol and PCBs. Furthermore, you will find formaldehyde resins as well as pesticide residues.
The literature is a book called "Ecotoxicological Diagnosis in the Tanning Industry" written by Mwinyikione Mwinyihija published in 2010 by Springer.
