Dear Ayinla,

the pollen you have photographed looks fresh, with cytoplasm and intine, and this may mask the exine. However, the four apertures (pori, colpori) are well-visible, especially because they give to the pollen the star-shaped aspect you mention. In general, Meliaceae are tetra-colporate pollen grains.

The photo isn´t very good and needs a scale-maybe you can post another one?
