Here is a step-by-step description of how to isolate the mesonephric gonad complex of catfish larvae using a dissection microscope:

Begin by preparing your materials and setting up your work area. You will need a dissection microscope, a sharp pair of dissecting scissors, fine forceps, a petri dish, and a supply of catfish larvae.

Place the catfish larva in the petri dish and carefully examine it under the dissection microscope. Identify the mesonephric gonad complex, which is located in the abdominal cavity of the larva and is responsible for producing gametes (eggs or sperm).

Using the dissecting scissors, carefully cut through the abdominal wall of the larva to expose the mesonephric gonad complex. Use the fine forceps to gently lift the complex out of the abdominal cavity.
