What are the best options for Ca2+ channel blockers? I need a long lasting effect (~2h) on membrane Ca2+ channels to perform some experiments with intracellular Ca2+.
Sheng-Nan point is a valid one. Before you block channels, you should check which ones are present in your system. Keep in mind that nonspecific HM blockers are toxic and irreversible, and will affect the viability of your cells. GL, Saak
Another option is to work in 0 calcium external - that way you are sure that you don't have any calcium flowing inside your cells. 2h may be harsh for the cells, though (but 2h in Cd is not better either).
