A male patient aged 67 presented with bullous pemphigoid,duration 6 years. Prior to attending us, he received steroid, Wysolone, and methotrexate with no cure. Our treatment and management include----------in the morning the lesions were oxidized with Condy's lotion, wiping dry, applying Wrightia tinctoria herbal extract in coconut oil, intake of 5 ml extract orally and exposure to morning Sun light for 15 minutes. This is done twice daily in the morning and evening. The patients is advised to boost immunity by following------------- 1. Timely sleep and rest 2. Diet also includes vegetables, grains and fruits 3. Regular exercise for one hour 4. Regular excretion of body waste metabolites through skin, urine, breath and stool 5. Generous intake of water 6 Positive emotions. The patient responded well to treatment in 3 months. The patient continued the treatment for a year resulting in complete cure.

Bullous pemphigoid (BUL-us PEM-fih-goid) is a rare skin condition that causes large, fluid-filled blisters. The blisters develop on areas of skin that often flex — such as the lower abdomen, upper thighs or armpits. Bullous pemphigoid is most common in people older than age 60. Bullous pemphigoid occurs when your immune system attacks a thin layer of tissue below your outer layer of skin. The reason for this abnormal immune response is unknown, although it sometimes can be triggered by taking certain medications.
Bullous pemphigoid is the result of an attack on the basement membrane of the epidermis by IgG +/- IgE immunoglobulins (antibodies) and activated T lymphocytes (white blood cells). The target is the protein BP180 (also called Type XVII collagen), or less frequently BP230 (a plakin). These proteins are within the NC16A domain of collagen XVII. They are associated with the hemidesmosomes, structures that ensure the epidermal keratinocyte cells stick to the dermis to make a waterproof seal. The binding of the autoantibodies to the proteins and/or release of cytokines from the T cells lead to complement activation, recruitment of neutrophils (acute inflammatory cells) and the release of proteolytic enzymes. These destroy the hemidesmosomes and cause the formation of subepidermal blisters.
The association of neurological disease with the skin disease is thought to relate to the presence of collagen XVII in the central nervous system and in skin hemidesmosomes.
The mechanism of action of Wrightia tinctoria is through suppressing the immune system. No research has been done on the molecular level, yet.

Is the mechanism of action of Wrightia tinctoria is through suppressing the immune system or stimulating the immune system to boost? In a casual discussion Dr Kilaru Rammohan Rao (USA) opined that Wrightia tinctoria extract is an immunostimulant and advised to use it to treat patients suffering from cancer. Now, Wrightia tinctoria is known to have several phytochemicals possessing properties like antiinflamatory, antiviral, antibacterial, antifungal and many others. Psoriasis is cured with Wrightia tinctoria. Boosting immunity by following healthy life style viz Good rest and sleep, Diet including vegetables, fruits and grains, Generous intake of water, regular Physical activity preferably Pranayama and Yogasana, Regular excretion of body waste metabolites through breath, sweat, urine and stool, and Positive emotions is essential to eradicate not only psoriasis but many autoimmune diseases. Dear Thammayya, Wrightia tinctoriacontains wrightial, a triterpenoid chemical. Triterpenes are a class of chemical compounds composed of three terpene units with the molecular formula C30H48; they may also be thought of as consisting of six isoprene units. Animals, plants and fungi all create triterpenes, with arguable the most important example being squalene as it forms the basis of almost all steroids.
It seems that mechanism of action go with immune suppression more than stimulants, as it acts in more than one autoimmune disease.
It is believed that the disease is caused by immune system stimulation. The drug which cures the disease should be immune depressant.
If some body in USA stated that the plant works as an immune stimulant so what is the cause of the disease; is it immune suppression?
THIS DISEASE IS VERY WELL KNOWN AND IT IS KNOWN THAT THE CAUSE TO THIS DISEASE IS IMMUNE SYSTEM STIMULATION.

We treated one case of bullous pemphigoid and the patient cured from the malady in one year. He stopped use of Wrightia tinctoria herbal. One year 4 months passed but no relapse. How a genetic disorder gets remission.
May be through antigen eradication which make gene transduction stops, then gene expression. The question raised now, is the process is only temporary suppression or it will be permanent remission as steroids immune suppress and not antigen eradicating.
