Can anyone direct me to studies that have measured blood oxygen levels by year or decade? For instance, among young adults, has there been any change in blood oxygen levels since 2000?
I have recently read an article discussing the oxygen rate according to age. It has been stated on the article that adults typically have lower oxygen saturation levels than the younger population, however, no further discussion nor claims has been made directly on the matter of interest. Hereafter is the cited article I mentioned. Hope it helps!

I recently read an article that living in the high altitudes induce low oxygen saturation levels in an individual's blood or desaturation it occurs as a result of low air pressure at high elevations. Low oxygen levels can cause blood hypoventilation (OSA and oversedation), pulmonary embolism, airway obstruction (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease or COPD and sleep apnea), and diffusion abnormalities (pneumonia, CHF, alveolar hemorrhage, emphysema, interstitial lung disease (ILD), acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), and shunts) (intra- and extra-pulmonary).

There's this article which states that the oxygen saturation level depends variably on a person's state of health no matter what age. For instance, obese people typically have decreased oxygen saturation levels, as do those with disorders including emphysema, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, congenital heart disease, and sleep apnea. Another example could be when a person is talking, their oxygen saturation levels decreases.
However, individuals who are older often have lower oxygen saturation levels than adults who are younger. A person older than 70 years old could, for instance, have an appropriate oxygen saturation level of roughly 95%.
