There are many immunological and PCR research about COVID-19, but I wonder if there are a relationship among COVID-positive and any blood parameter. There is information that put the target on ferritin levels, and maybe platelet decay. Can anybody help me with literature or medical experiences? I am very interested too in this issue. Maybe we can help each other by sharing information, it would be great!

Hello, I am working as a research assistant at ICU in COVID-19 Pandemic.
I follow intubated and extubated patients. For patients with suspected or diagnosed COVID-19, it is vital to closely monitor the degree of cytokine storm and its effect on the patient's clinic.
We follow up daily hemogram, biochemistry, ferritin, interleukin-6, fibrinogen, D-dimer, CRP, procalcitonin, triglyceride from our patients. We follow the H score and brescia-Covid Severity Scale score for each patient. Especially in the choice of modifying treatment, H score is very important and we decide from the first step to the second step with the h score.

Certain abnormal biochemical values have been confirmed in patients with COVID-19 disease, the most common being leukocytosis, leukopenia, lymphopenia, elevated levels of C-reactive protein (PCR) and lactate dehydrogenase, high values of erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), abnormal procalcitonin, and abnormal levels of liver enzymes. Lymphopenia can be caused by COVID-19-mediated “cytokine storm” or by direct inactivation of SARS-CoV-2 (Cao J et al., 2020). Also, the inflammatory response triggered by the virus causes changes in PCR and ESR values in the blood.
