which stage is best to check the negative effect of LPS (Lipopolysaccharides) on the reproductive efficiency of female mice before mating or after mating.
The Lipopolysaccharides (LPS) acts at the level of follicular theca and granulosa cells and impaire steroidogenesis. The insufficient steroid production results in poor growth and development of follicular oocytes in mammalian ovary. Thus, the oocyte quality is deteriorated. The poor oocyte quality directly affects ovulation, fertilization as well as pregnancy rates.
I would suggest that you can check the pre-mating stage i.e. oocyte quality and ovulation rate and post-mating i.e. fertilization as well as pregnancy rates.
