So I had no problem training uninjected C57BL/6J mouse, but I am currently trying to work with injected (brain) ChAT-Cre mouse and having difficulties. I'm using the modified T maze (figure 8) with food deprived mouse. The problem is that they won't eat the food in the maze. I have habituated them to the maze for a week and they will do the maze for about 3 runs then stop eating the rewards. They eat it fine when put in their cage.

I'm currently testing if this is an injection problem or strain problem and training a non-injected ChAT-cre moue. I have also tried water deprivation with water reward, but they weren't at all interested in the water. Besides that, any tips for those who worked with injected mouse?
