Antibodies that detect NeuN or Synaptophysin work pretty well. NeuN marks basically nuclei and slightly the citoplasm. Synaptophysin would be better if you want a more precise staining of the citoplasm. However, I would recommend you to search for markers according which type of neuron you are interested in.
