Hi Matt, we stayed away from the Chemidoc from Bio_Rad - the sensitivity is just terrible. Note - There are other research gate threads as well on the topic:

The Fuji system (now GE) is still the workhorse here - but no one here has trialled the updated package. It looks the same basic components though. A lab close by has the Azure system - they like it, but they did not trial the new GE imager 600. But the azure has some good reviews.

We have a new Amersham Imager 600 UV in our lab that replaced our old (and terrible) imager. I couldn't be more happy with the images it is producing with chemiluminescence. 

Thanks everyone. So we have the Amersham and Biorad systems coming for a trial. Charley I'm hoping we can trial the Azure but currently there are none in the country.

Matt are you keeping your LAS4000 if you get a new system?

Hi Mario, we went with the Chemidoc RBG. It is working really well, resolution is way better than our LAS4000, so far happy with it.

I am about to buy an imaging instrument. I have offers for ALLIANCE Q9 ADVANCED 365 (UVITEC) and ChemiDoc™ Imaging System (BioRad). Can anyone share opinions about these instruments?

I know this is an old thread, but have used many imagers in the past. We currently have Amersham 680, and the sensitivity compared to our old one (in the style of the Chemidoc from Syngene) made we want to cry. I was at the point where I was begging to go back to film because literally I could see the HRP with my eyes sometimes and the hood imager could not visualize. With the 680 I did a serial dilution of protein, and was able to get into the pg level, where as with our Syngene, I couldn't see anything under 1ug or so with HRP.

We also have a LiCor CLx, and I'm extremely happy with that too. Its not as sensitive obviously, but great for quantification.
