Spatial learning such as active place avoidance is a hippocampus dependent task. But what are the other brain regions that could be involved in this kind of test in animal study?
I agree with the previous comment. More specifically, you can divide and start with Central amygdala (CA) and Basal lateral amygdala (BLA). Among other parts, these two regions of amygdala plays crucial role in learning and memory.
