In a set of bacterial proteomics results from the Koala software I have numerous protein records (many with Protein Score > 100, and with simultaneously high (i.e., >1) emPAI, +-high Match. The particular proteins are, obviously, having a description, with a mention of a bacteria species. I know that the particular proteins can be formed by various species, but I was wondering if, assuming high Score & emPAI at once, one can suspect the occurrence of the particular Bacteria species listed? The basis of my question is that numerous of the species listed fit to the environmental conditions (temperature, pH, salinity, hydrocarbon richness) based on their known (original) affinities, and I was wondering if one can suggest an "average chance, say, in %" of the responsibility of the particular protein occurrence in this very Bacteria species.
Thanks in advance!
