Hello dear researchers, I have question for especially for those whose field of research is Polarimetric Imaging, As according to the Jones model if our experimental setup is like this:

Source>>>Polarizer(Rotator)>>>sample>>>1/4 quarter waveplat>>>Analyser>>CCD

When rotating the Polarizer for Alpha=180, where Alpha is the incident angle the intensity is:

I(i)=a0+a1sin2*(alpha)i+a2cos2*(alpha)i:

Where a0=1/2I0,a1=1/2*sin*2*(delta)*cos*2*(Fai),a2=1/2*sin*2*(delta)*sin*2*(Fai):

delta is the angle between Ex and Ey and Fai is the azimuthal angle.

I want to know:

What is physics of FAI?

When i get the images Fai gives me maximum signal range of scattering from samples. why?

When i image Fai it creates maximum noise in the Image Why?

PS: I calculated Fai from the equation a1 and a2. reference is attached.

thanks.
