Hi science members,
we are currently have the oppurtunity to buy some new lab Equipment and thought about automated cell counting machine for our cell culture unit (at the Moment we are counting with hemocytometer) does anyone have the experience with this machine and whether it is really worth to invest?
and of Course if you have some recommendations about a specific machine it will be of a good value to us to know.

we tested the NucleoCounter NC-200 for a few days a couple of years ago and were highly satisfied with it.
It displays not only cell numbers, but also gives you various detection opportunities to sort out dead cells. The costs for the counting chambers were the only drawback.
Unfortunately, we did not get it so it is still trypan blue and Neubauer-chamber for us :) But if you are interested, the company is willing to set up a test device in your lab.

We use EVE Automatic cell counter from MBI. It is small and accurate. Much faster than using the traditional Neubauer chamber.
The only disadvantage is that you need to purchase the counting chambers again and again.
if you have extra budget that is worth it, besides cell counting, it gives other data, some labs can share.
if you have lower amount of work and you are tight on budget, you have to decide
