Hello! My professor and I are looking at a gene in yeast that might have something to do with GAL gene induction via repression of heterochromatin formation. We are not sure exactly how long it would take to achieve peak levels of expression in yeast after growing to log phase overnight on YPD medium and then plating with galactose. From a few papers I've been reading over GAL gene kinetics, sampling seems to take place over the course of 7 hours for RT-PCR. Does that seem right?
