Periodontal ligment has interoceptos which can detect the pressure point. If the pressure is high at one side of tooth, the opposite side cervical bone would be resorption such as if no posterior teeth support, anterior teeth would be protrusion. Therefore, bone loss is induced by unbalanced traumatic occlusion such as bruxism (biting force too heavy) or patients with severe periodontitis.
