I need to detect the presence of Pseudomonas aeruginosa using MPN technique with asparagine broth as the presumptive test by checking for fluorescence under UV light. At what UV wavelength can I use to do this without killing the bacteria present. Right now I have some small UV flashlight that I bought online, but I am thinking of buying some UV bulbs with stand to easier take check for the results. All I can find online are e27 bulbs at 260 nm - 280 nm range. Is this save to use on my samples?
