Based on various sources, [for example Porous Media Transport Phenomena Edition 1, Chapter 5 - Fluid Motion in Porous Media, pg116] the transition of fluid flow though the various regimes is characterised in terms of Pore Flow Reynolds number. I would like to know if the same characterisation is given based on Forchheimer number anywhere in the literature.

Although Equation (13) uses a pore or grain sized based Reynolds number, the comment about "Collins (1961) suggested a relationship to determine d, d=(k/n)^(1/2), where k is permeability and n porosity" suggests a possible avenue for me to investigate for converting between Reynolds number and Forchheimer number.

When Reynolds number ranges between 1 and 10, Forchheimer model is the most suitable. Note that the Reynolds number should be based on the pore diameter.
