A lot is going around the globe these days and one thing which has taken up shape is the harassment of women by their counterparts (men). Women are opening up about the atrocities and harassment which they have faced in their past. I think, it is never too late to speak up and I strongly support this movement. It is high time to put a halt to all the heinous crimes committed against women. People who involve and engage themselves in such things must be put in dungeons as a life imprisonment. Harassment is not just restricted to the film industry or commercial industries, but is also majorly found in academia and research domains.
My dear RG fellows, what is your take on the ME TOO movement? Do you support the initiative, if yes, then please discuss how can we serve justice to the harassed women?
Talking about such a serious issue is a great move, but, actions always speak louder than words, right?
It should be clear that there are bad and good women as there are bad and good men.
I do not believe in much hyped me too movement, as now who are playing victim; why, once they tolerated all such harrasment as a ladder to reach the height of fame, fortune and everything. When they got, by every means, what they wanted, now playing victim is for me is not a right way of proving someone bad or corrupted; neither these movements have ever could reduce the harrasment, nor they can ever reduce these events against women. These movements can only add shimmer to media news networks or fulfil donor driven agendas that will bring more shame and humilation to women.
I am waiting, when men will start, me three and me four movements.
Each case is different and should be handled after careful scrutiny, taking care not to do injustice to any party!

I somewhat agree with you, yes, there are most women who do this for publicity, but, what about those who are not so popular and don't have the support system to actually talk about their harassment? I have seen many female researchers whose thesis are not passed by their male supervisors as they want some special "favors" from them. Do you think not speaking at all is right?
See, my point is very lucid, men and women both are equal and have the right to live equivalent. Why are women the only ones who have to cut short on their professional timings so that they can reach their homes before its late evening? Why do we as women have to compromise on things which are in reality not a big issue?
Discrimination & Silence needs to be broken. It is high time for women to speak up for themselves so that the opportunities that are for them as equal as for their counterparts must not be given on some "compromise".

I agree, people are both bad and good. But, what must be done to those bad men who harm good women? Any suggestion? :)

Respected Sahar, you are right about something, but see my point is , if she is standing now to tell the public that she was harrassed in the past by some person; she must have moral courage to tell the general public that yes, I accepted all harrasment because I wanted success, fame , and everything; please accept, that many women use this as means to achieve many things and now totally telling that I was innocent and I was mistreated, is not sufficient; it is not courageous, it is not brave thing to do.
Yes! I agree in entirety my dear sister Nazia Asad . But, still there are many cases which are not for publicity but are for real.
I guesstimate, Zin Eddine Dadach Sir, is right about the concept. There are good and bad people on this Earth.

I am not with any grouping, bloc or party that only encourages women's ideas. I always encourage family support, in all forms, through laws and regulations, through community and community communities, whole families in need of development, capacity building and service delivery. Entire family members may be exposed to some individual tragic stories that need to apply laws
I have some different comment, which may not be palatable to most of the reader.
From my experience of life, I trust that there is no difference in tendency or desire to perform crime, un social or anti social activities, cheating, hypocrisy, pretending of honesty, using conditions in own favour by taking any un ethical way etc. among men and women.
I also trust that before undoubtedly proved, no person can be considered as guilty only for lodging complain.
EACH and EVERY such case require thorough inspection before coming to a conclusion.
There should be provision of hard punishment for false allegation also.

I totally agree with Dr. Zin Eddine Dadach ! There are both good and bad women. I do feel sorry for the women who have suffered harassment; however, in most of the cases those women didn't object to the so called harassment at the beginning, because they wished to build their career.
