Yes, Diogo. But not this year. We are esp. interested to collect audiovisual data in the salt lake area to monitor avian migration among other topics. Most likely 2020/21 is realistic perspective to move some of our equipment and team there. If interested to collaborate, you are mostly welcome. Best, Charly Schuchmann
Hi Karl-L. Schuchmann , I recently submitted a grant proposal for both the CNPq and the state science funding agency to set up a PAM program at the Nhecolândia farm of EMBRAPA (Nhumirim). Unfortunately both were rejected. The project focused on frogs and included Larissa Sayuri Moreira Sugai as a collaborator, but I'm willing to help anyway. Feel free to keep me updated of the schedule.
We too had bad experience with CNPq and FAPEMAT grant applications. Simply by the fact that the reviewers didn´t understand our methodological approach. As part of INAU / INCT, we at least got our project renewed for another 6 years (with a reasonable budget, but most of support comes from European Science Foundations which makes our life much easier).
In case you visit Cuiaba, please come to meet with us at our CO.BRA lab at the UFMT to discuss a potential cooperation. This year we are planning to analyze our anuran soundscape recordings (2 complete annual cycles, real big data). You are welcome to collaborate and publish on this as well, if wanted.
Yes, I can imagine. Our project received high scores as well, but I got a [unfair] low score in the 'previous experience' criterium. Note: the call was specially directed to early career researchers... go figure. But I still belive the project ideas and planning. I'l finish translating it and can send it to you, if you're interested
