The soccer world championships have begun. Hence my question. There may be reasons to answer the question in the affirmative. But the practical experience can be completely different. What is your opinion?
We cannot ever overgeneralize. As a psychologist, I thing that all things being equal, women are fairer in football (soccer) than men. This is so because of several reasons. Chiefly among them are the following.
1. In principle, men are more competitive that women. Because of this, the satge is set for men to be less fair than their female counterpards in the context you refer to.
2. When compared to men, women tend to me more emotional than men. Men are thought to be more instrument. In other words, when playing football, for example, women are concerned with others' well-being than men are. Because of this, tend to cheat less than men do.
3. It is worth mentioning that, for example, both S. Freud and Carol Gilligan spoke of the emotional status on the part of women and the instrumental status on the part of men.
While it is not good to generalize as correctly described by Dr. Lourenco above, one could say that women are fairer than men. Perhaps men have more cut throat behaviors that lead them to be me more aggressive resulting in a bit less fairer compared to women.
Dear Orlando, I got the question after watching the last quarter of an hour of the game between China and Germany. The game was won by the German team - with some luck - 1:0. I observed the behaviour of the young women, e.g. after a foul. The will to win is probably the same for men and women. But the means used exceed what is allowed for men to a significant extent and are often unfair, such as holding the opponent's trousers or clutching the body. The injuries inflicted in the game are probably much worse for men than for women, also because their running speed and body weight are higher. With women I often see more empathy with the injured opponent. The adaptive behaviour seems more pronounced to me.
I had indicated that I would answer the question with "yes", but that presupposes that the participants see it the same way. We would have to ask the players if they feel the same or different. Sport psychological studies should - hopefully - be conducted on this.
So I come to the same or a very similar result as you.
Soccer. Here are some research results: Female soccer players are able to perform longer at a higher intensity on a diet composed of 35 percent fat than on diets of 27 percent fat or 24 percent fat... Women get up sooner than men after a fall in soccer ... Women less likely than men to fake soccer injuries... Women who play soccer may be more at risk than their male counterparts, because female soccer players exhibit more extensive changes to brain tissue after repetitive 'heading' of the soccer ball... Dear Anastas, I think similar regarding the characteristics of women play, but wehter female soccer (football) could be named "very technical and romantic" is a new note for me. "Romantic", yes but is this not a nice bias of us as men? And regarding "technical" aspects of soccer, in gender-specific
regard, my personal impression is that the level of perfection of play as an experienced phenomenon is more developed with men. In my view there are more excellent personalites with own playful creativity. Female soccer is in my modest view more a common social achievement. But this could be discussed.
Significant differences in knee alignment and muscle activation exist between men and women while kicking a soccer ball. Males activate certain hip and leg muscles more than females during the motion of the instep and side-foot kicks -- the most common soccer kicks -- which may help explain why female players are more than twice as likely as males to sustain an anterior cruciate ligament injury.

Western society should continue to try and separate traditional gender roles from sports segregation, in order to create a large space for female athletes to be celebrated on their athletic success. Women’s soccer is continuing to grow and so should the wages.
Thank you very much for your answer - very stimulating in our discussion. We need more personal experience, reasons and observations with this question. Can you help?
Thank you for your statement. I hope we wil in a stimulating discussion with your statement. The study you mentioned ist really helpful for our furhter talk. Thank you!
May be acceptable in general but not with regard to any specific filed or activity. A great amount of research in physiology (body) and psychology (mind) shows that men and women could nearly be as different as two closely related species.
The answers you have given are stimulating for further argumentative discussion, I think.
1/ At the moment I tend to correct my first opinion that women's football matches are fairer than men's football matches.
2/ A few matches have already been played at the Women's World Cup. My observation is that all women's national teams are not fair in the same way.
3/ Rather, there are women's teams - just as there are men's teams - that are extremely unfair in comparison to their opponents. It looks as if they are trying to compensate for the lack of playing technique by using their bodies rudely. I can't find any fundamental difference.
4/ But it may be that the severity and number of injuries are lower overall than for men. This is a thesis that naturally needs to be examined. There is therefore also a great variance between women's teams in football with regard to the degree of fairness in the game. Or what do you think?
I am watching womens football matches since about 20 years.
The game is very enjoyable, technically at a high level (I am watching the German national side playing the US, Norway, Sweden, Denmark) in World Cup or European Cup Finals or semi-finals, for instance.
The girls normally are not using brute force but their brains.
Helpful and nice to see.
Fouls are occuring but nealy never bloody fouls (blood cannot be seen, and nearly never flows) and they tend not to harm themselves...
However yellow and red cards also occor.
So since they are playing mostly smart football and use their bodies with their minds womens football tends to be fairer and better to view out of my point of view...
