1. Effective mentoring requires qualities such as missionary zeal, leadership, positive thinking, and emotional intelligence on the part of the mentor.

2. The key focus of the mentor has to be on inspiring the mentee. Often the mentor is too busy, does not take her/his mentoring responsibilities as seriously as they ought to be taken, and thus is not able to inspire the mentee as per expectations..

3. The organization should be careful in appointing mentors. Only those people who are qualified to do so should be given this responsibility.

I think I have done a fairly good job in my role as a mentor.

@Mahmoud, why do You think that You do not do it well (mentorship)? Every mentor may do it better, each of us could do it better. That is the reason why I have mentioned earlier the importance of our relation to mentees! Very useful feedback for us, the mentors!
