When we see a known man at the street we recognize him. Maybe the somewhat similar process is in memory process when the object is absent in reality? Let me suppose we decided to remember something. Then we feel some images (or representations) in our mind, recognize them and the information about the image/representation appears. This final information is what we are calling our memory and are talking this memory to other people. Are there the similar theories?

Are there any explanations of the fact (stated in the above article) that the same neurons participate in perception and memory? How does a man distinguish reality and its memory? Statistical method used in the article is not the answer. How does monkey brain itself do it, how does a man himself do it???
