A human is an ability to eat, to walk, to memorize, to think, to rightly express your moods. Then he goes to work as electrician, musician, physicicist, physician, etc. All these human activity is generated by human society, government.
WHERE IS A PURE MAN? Do we think about ourselves (our memory, thinking, why do we live, why do we do such action, etc) frequently? NOT AT ALL! We immersed in highly complicated "whirlpool" оf self-preservation of ourselves, our children, our parents, our relatives, our MONEYS, etc. Our self-preservation is so complicated that we have no time to think on other subjects. So we are ants, we get commands and we just execute it. That is essence if our life - we do what we do not understand but we are in hurry to make it on time! All it is a comedy.
Besides Shakespeare`s phrase "all the world is a theater" I say all the world is comedy.

It requires a lot of investing in personal development to be considered more than what you ask in the question. I don't think being an automaton is the role of a human being, but unfortunately some people don't develop their full or even partial potential. There's a lot to blame on civilization, but then again there's a lot to give it credit for. In the end it's just about taking care for your garden as Candide does and all else will follow. Education is the key to be freed from becoming what might be considered a mindless automaton, but it's a challenging and arduous path. Society is a necessity, since man is a social being. (*Man may be used with Woman interchangeablly in all these sentences)
Could you say me what is your memory? Even more narrow, what are intuitive personal parameters which tells you that your particular memory is true, accurate (say with x (any number) % of probability)???
I do not talk here about internal IMAGES, VOICES, in your brain etc. It is madness, I am sure!! I think more generally. It seems to me the accuracy criterion is absent! Every memory can be false! I just admit it. Usual people do not think about it. We just trust in our memory. On the other hand our memory is very accurate according to our interactions with external world and society. We do not know why it is! Memory is automatic process. A man can not understand it by his mind. You should use indirect methods, scientific methods. It told famous psychologist Wundt. Famous psychologist Jean Piaget concluded that memory is formed by society. He said also the memory is a strike with void (say, vacuum). You may conclude that it is also about that the memory is automatic process only partially controlled by your mind.
Of course, I am not a specialist in memory. But as professional physicist I can not even understand the VERY BASICS OF SCHOOL EDUCATION, I mean why all Euclidean theorems (you can substitute here other geometry, like pseudo riemannian geometry of general relativity) are true (within the error) in physical experiments!!!! There are not any intuitive explanation of it, I am sure. It is because of many axioms of euclidean axiomatic geometry are ABSENT IN NATURE (parallels axiom, Cantor and continuity axioms, incidence axiom, etc). The explanation is "IT IS JUST MAJIC!" and "please do not going slightly mad" :) Famous Jules Henri Poincaré said that there is no meaning whether to change the geometry and to change the physical law because you could not determine THE ABSOLUTE TRUE. Einstein changed the geometry and got general relativity. But here there are still lots of unsolved questions..

1. ABOUT THE EDUCATION. EDUCATION it seems to me in Russia, in the US (where I was a grad student) and maybe around the world is made in such a way to enforce a man to do the needed algorithms without his questions.There are not any physics textbooks which RECOMMENDED AND USED IN UNIVERSITIES where you find the answer to my previous (and below!) post questions about the physics basics! You as a STUDENT of such university should admit this madness and be still.:) I talk about official education of physics in universities (both private and state ones). So your book as many others are not fitted to this sad discussion. :(
As I told above classical physics can not be understandable at all by a man, it seems to me. For me the unexplained use of geometry in physics is not the only problem.
The second CRAZY (for me) thing of physics is that you can not DIRECTLY EXPERIMENTALLY TEST NEWTON`S LAWS SEPARATELY (The first law, then the second law, then the third one) OR IN ANY LOGICALLY CONSISTENT WAY! For example to introduce the inertial mass (to measure the mass by balance) you should TRUST IN BIG BUNCH OF LAWS OF physics (3 laws of Newtons, gravitational law, the lever rule or the equation between torque and angular momentum, math: vector algebra, geometry, arithmetics, proof rules of math, etc.) and THEN you get a CONSEQUENCE, like that if balance is horizontal then the masses are equal. Then you can produce etalons of different masses and measure the needed one (of course in units of minimal mass). THIS CONSEQUENCE IS EXPERIMENTALLY TESTED.
But you know that if the consequence is true than the origin, the reason can be ANY! SO PHYSICS IS JUST INTERPRETATION OF NATURE AND THIS INTERPRETATION WE CAN NOT TEST IN PRINCIPAL! IT IS MADNESS. It is just my view.
Of course the teacher could say we guessed the newtons laws!! We are genius! But for me it is just a joke, it is not explanation of physics for me :)
2. ABOUT HUMAN INTELLECT. I will not add something to the above post on human mind abilities. Maybe it is sufficient. The ability to memorize, think, feel are also looked for me as madness inside myself. But I am laughing on it and do not take care on it. The calm is the only mean a human invented against his madness.
But If you a physicist who invents new aircraft you should be VERY HIGHLY RESPONSIBLE about LIFE of people (children, parents maybe they can be yours)..
3. So the conclusion is why we are not investigating our memory, mind, senses and live in completely MAD WORLD which erupts to us from INTERNET, TV, BOOKS, SCIENCE, SOCIETY ?????
