For gas dispersion in the atmosphere, gaussian plume/puff based models/softwares can be used.
But landfill gas must first migrate underground before they reach the ground surface to form an area source and begin their dispersion in the atmosphere.
Does anyone have ideas about this? Thank you in advance. (Both analytical models/softwares and numerical ones are welcome)
Here I find a paper using the combination of the LandGEM emission model with the ISC3-LT dispersion model.
Although it is supposed that the total amount of the generated gas( can be calculated by LandGEM) is emitted to the atmosphere, there should be a migration process before forming an area source, which makes the concentration distribution on the ground surface nonuniform.

The problem of inhomogeneity in area emissions is known and difficult to handle. Mostly one sees an emission estimate on basis of measurements in air flux chambers of some greater size, to avoid costly intensive point measurements.
