I want to study toxic effects of aluminium oxide nanoparticles. There are many reports about AlCl3. However, studies on toxicity of Al2O3 are more limited. Can anyone help me on that?
Have not worked on this. Starting point should be a well characterized nanoparticle dispersion. You may start with Aeroxide Alu C from Evonik. By 10 min of high intensity sonication (300 W/cm²) of a 10 % aqueous dispersion (0.8 g in 8 g dispersion) we were able to get more than 99 % particles smaller 100 nm.
Be aware evaluating Al2O3 dispersions soluble Al species will always be present in solution. Therefore you need to do comparison with the solutions without nanoparticles.
