I am looking for a method to remove a suite of dissolved organic compounds (e.g. BTEX, PAHs, PCBs, acetone/acetate/acetic acid, phthalates, phenols, glycols, biocides, surfactants...) that are found in frac fluid flowback water samples, on a laboratory scale. Perhaps something like a commercially-available ion exchange resin or zeolite. Any recommendations are appreciated.
Maybe Membrane technology ( ultra/microfiltration) is a solution to remove larger molecules. Small molecules like acetate have to be remove by ion exchange resins.
On a technological scale it may be a polyurethane foams.
I think that you'll easily take examples from net.
Or you can take absorbents on the graphite carbon black base - Carbopack(tm) Carbosieve(tm) etc.
All these absorbents can be recuperate.
Have you considered HP-20?

It's a reversed-phase resin like C18 silica which is pretty versatile.
