Hello Fatima,

I've been working with colleagues in a research project whose empirical context is an inclusive mathematics problem solving competition that takes place outside of school. The competition is divided into two stages. The first is called the Qualifying and basically it welcomes every student of a specific school year in the south of Portugal. It is a very inclusive learning environment because every participant receives a specific feedback to the solution developed for each problem posed. During the Qualifying the participants may correct their answers or improve their explanations according to that feedback. Furthermore, the rules of the competition also encourage help seeking during this stage: from parents, teachers or even from the organization. Of course, the purpose is to have a large amount of students engaged in mathematical problem solving for several months. The "real" competition takes place at the Final, which is a one day tournament.
