After receiving comments from reviewers on a manuscript on the above mentioned subject, the reviewers claimed that aerobic denitrification has been reported to produce nitrous oxide, of which I did not quantify. I am not sure if the study determined the mechanism in pure or mixed cultures.

The suggested manuscript also discusses aerobic denitrification in pure cultures. I am looking for reports on aerobic denitrification on microbial communities. I, however, will use the suggested publication as a basis of my argument.
