The impartiality of editors when making decisions on the fate of a submitted manuscript is sometimes questionable. When authors analyse the comments of the reviewers, one realises that the manuscript was supposed to be re-submitted after making the necessary corrections. One however can receive a rejection from the editor, with their main reason being " the journal is under pressure to publish and hence, your manuscript has been rejected". It was for such reasons that I started to question the impartiality of the editors.
One then gets to see a published paper of one of the journal editors in the same journal that the author is an associate editor in, with questionable experimental results and yet the manuscript gets to be published.
