I was looking for three dimensional solutions for open circular cylindrical shell under static loading, though I came across solutions for laminates, FGMs but for simple isotropic shell I was unable to locate a solution in literature.
I am unaware of the existence of a paper that would critically deal with the point of your concern in detail. However, considering the same analogy, you may refer to http://141.44.1.20/ivt/mvt/deutsch/Vortraege/Antonyuk_99.pdf
Though, its a bit late reply from my side. I thank all of you for these valuable information. This problem of three dimensional elasticity was solved for an orthotropic shell with a special case as isotropic open cylindrical panel by Bhimaraddi, A. and K. Chandrashekhara.
The paper details are following:
Bhimaraddi, A., Chandrashekhara, K., (1992). Three Dimensional Elasticity Solution for Static Response of Simply Supported Orthotropic Cylindrical Shells, Composite Structures (20), pp. 227-235.
I'm working in the higher order shell theory model so I was looking for 3-D solutions to validate my results.
