I should point out that this is affinity, not specificity, as you asked. Specificity will be hard, suggest starting with high affinity and going from there.
What protease are you working with? Are you looking for protease inhibitors, or non-inhibitory ligands? If it's an inhibitor you want, is it supposed to be competitive or non-competitive?
Please give more details about your lectin experiment.
Adam metalloproteinases come to my mind, and yes there are small molecular weight inhibitors. But you do need to be more specific. Noone knows what you are talking about.
