There are several online resources where you can find researcher-optimized information about histone Ab qualities. Check this one: http://compbio.med.harvard.edu/antibodies/projects/1 (also follow the Nature Struc Mol Biol article referred therein). It used ChIP, WB and dot-blot to evaluate each antibody. You can view the data for yourself and build your own opinion.

Besides, if you want Ab info for a specific methyl lysine, you can go to UCSC genome browser, select human hg19 genome, search the track(s) for your modification of interest, and then explore each track for the details of the Ab used (suggesting hg19 because most ENCODE datasets are based on this version).

Abcam antibodies for all three are really good, they even have panels that you can use to try them, without a big investiment. I have used the H3K9 and H3K27 on mouse derived cells and they worked beautifully.

Also you can check CosmoBio (Japanese company). They provide monoclonal antibodies for K4 (me1,2 and 3) and K9 (me1 and 3) that are fairly specific and good for IF . Besides it is also quite handy for double staining with an anti rabbit double staining. They also do small aliquot if you just want to test.
