Recently read about the use of friendlier alternatives to DMF, and DMC, in SPPS, using Chematrix, resin. It was shown on small peptide models that the use of ACN and THF, was effective in synthesis of the peptides. The ques goes to the synthesis of longer peptides using this alternative solvents, and if they can be used in other resins besides chemmatrix.
DMF, and DMC, NMP are aprotic and are toxic, hence there green alternative are to made. Few of its alternative are acetonitrile, methanol, methyl ethyle ketone, 1 butanol, t-butanol , tert-butyl methyl ether, triethylamine and tolune.

DCM, DMF or NMP, but before choosing solvent, you should need to test with resin or otherwise, you need to check the existing analysis means swelling studies of the polymer resin. after that the resin swells more and effective in which solvent, that you choose for your synthesis.
What ever solvent you are going to use, check also the amino acid solubility with side-chain protection.
You can use alternative solvent and possible to change solvent if satisfied all the condition means.

I would add propylene carbonate and 1,2-dimethoxy ethane as more environmentally friendly polar aprotic solvents. I don't know how well they work for peptide synthesis.
In my experience, when synthesizing longer peptides (30+ AA) I had best results with NMP (or DMf).
