While working on melanin production inhibitors I had gone through this doubt. Any people who presently/earlier worked on these chemicals please help me to clear it urgently.
Information from web says Sulcotrione is a pesticide. If autoclave is for sterilization, an alternative way can be carried out by using a syringe 'filter' (see attached picture) to sterilize them. The filter can be attached to a syringe for this purpose.
Thanks Kunal and Yuan.I think filtering will work. But there is no data available about the thermal stability of the above compounds is a fact. The melting point of Kojic acid above 150oC. I think it may be stable. But if I get some advice from people who previously used these compounds will be helpful.
I am afraid that autoclave may destroy the active ingredients in the pesticide, and lost the function of pesticide. When I use herbicides as selection agent in plant tissue culture medium (MS), for sterilization purpose, we always use syringe filter to filter it. Besides, the steam from autoclaving these products may pose 'health hazards'. Need to double-check with the company you purchased these products from and be careful.
