We extracted bronchoalvelar lavage fluid 24 hr ago, have been stored 4 C. We used the cytospin (1300 rpm 5 min) to adhere cells to a slide. Fifteen minutes later we used a Diff Quik stain kit to stain for differential lymphocyte populations. We only observe macrophages and a few mast cells under the light microscope. We have not seen any eosinophils. Could the eosinophils been lost throughout the process?
