Would like to hear from the public if current public policies are adequate in facilitating the implementation of sustainability. If they are defective, how so and what can be done about it?
Public policies in US, EU, UK, worldwide? There is a huge variability of policies around the world. Some may have a sustainability policy, others may not.
Regarding adequacy of humanity sustainability policies overall, worldwide, in all aspects, i guess we just started scratching the issue to put-it mildly.
I would raise an issue, some countries may appear to have adequate sustainability policies, but in fact they just export their problems elsewhere.
There are a lot of public polices to encourage and facilitate the implementation of sustainability. The current policies and practices are not sufficient.

In reality, should be stimulated initiatives aiming at causing a new ethical behavior towards the environment, seeking a cultural shift. This can be accomplished, for example, through massive educational campaigns, marketing, lobbying, in which political, social actors and act ethically involved with environmental issues and interactions that promote sustainable development. This practice may be regarded as public policy initiatives on behalf of society as a whole.

Despite the debates around sustainability and sustainable development, it has shaped many municipal policies around the world since the 90's. In this context, the answer to your question is mixed. On the one hand, we have witnessed improvements in these policies within the last two decades in terms of governance, evaluation and implementation process, especially in European cities. Such improvements have facilitated the implementation of sustainability. On the other hand, progress remains to be made in order to make these policies more efficient. Kind regards.
