I synthesized 8 Arginine using SPS, I plan on using it to coat Iron oxide nanoparticles, but the peptide is too 'sticky' to be used Is there anything that could be causing this property in Arginine chain?
We work a lot with arginine-rich peptides (but we do not synthesise them), including R8 and R9, but I have to say we don't find them "sticky". They have the tendency to aggregate, yes, but they don't stick to surfaces. And sometimes they can be very difficult to resuspend, they cake quite often even after sonication.
I can't be of more help, but as far as I understood you can prevent, or at least limit, this "stickiness" by choosing the proper country-ion.
