I use RStudio as a LaTeX editor, allowing me to knit/sweave the analyses/output in with the word processing. And it allows all the classes available as part of LaTeX. Using R is this way is also available with other LaTeX editors.
Of course if you just mean can you do the analyses, and can you use R (with any editor), then yes. But if you meant this you would have said R, not RStudio, in your question.
yes you can use R for making SDTM/ADaM Datasets in clinical trails. but you can also generate these datasets in Python.
