We have successfully used the Surveyor kit in Thermofisher Scientific (EP0405), Roche Expand Hi-Fi (11732641001) and Promega 2x master mix (do not remember cat #) PCR buffers. I think the main trick is not to add extra MgCl2.

Though I must say we mostly use it for CRISPR/Cas9 indel detection - so the change is typically more than just a single nucleotide. Also, your PCR should be very strong ans specific.
